This Policy applies to our collection and use of personal data, as defined below, when you access or use our website at www.dreo.ca, the Dreo App, our products, and related online experiences with which you may interact, collectively, the “Services.” This Policy is intended to inform you about our privacy practices and your privacy rights.

We will collect and use your personal data in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, you may discontinue using our Services. This Policy is incorporated into and subject to DREO’s Terms of Service.

 

1. DEFINITIONS USED IN THIS POLICY

“Device” means the device you use to access and use the Services.

“Personal Data” means information about an identifiable individual, or information that can reasonably be used to identify an individual. This includes “personal information” as defined under applicable Canadian privacy laws.

“Service Provider” means any natural or legal person who processes data on behalf of DREO. It refers to third-party companies or individuals engaged by DREO to facilitate the Services, to provide the Services on behalf of DREO, to perform services related to the Services, or to assist DREO in analyzing how the Services are used.

“Usage Data” means de-identified or aggregated data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Services or from the Services infrastructure itself, for example, the duration of a page visit.

 

2. COLLECTION AND USE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We collect several types of information from and about users of our Services. While using our Services, we may ask you to provide certain Personal Data.

Information We Collect from Products

When you use our products that employ smart technology, we collect your device data to provide product functions. Device data may include information such as your device identifiers, for example, device name, model, and serial number, the IP address of the device, device operating status, for example, task information and accessory life, setting parameters, information about the surrounding environment of the device, for example, room temperature, air quality, and humidity, and device control and usage data.

We use this information to collect and analyze statistics and usage data, diagnose and fix technical issues, enhance device performance, and improve the user experience. This information may be uploaded to our servers and/or the servers of our Service Providers, or it may be stored on your Device.

Unless you register the device online and connect it by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or otherwise to the internet, our products will not transmit such information. You may use our smart technology products without Wi-Fi or Bluetooth data transmission by disconnecting the device’s Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection or by not connecting Wi-Fi or Bluetooth at all.

Chat

Your chats with DREO may be saved, stored, and used by DREO for customer support, quality assurance, and other purposes described in this Privacy Policy. DREO uses vendors such as Zendesk to provide chat features. These vendors use chat information only to support and improve DREO’s chat experience and Services. If you do not agree to this, please do not use the chat feature.

Tracking Technologies and Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Services and store certain information. Tracking technologies used may include beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Services. The technologies we use may include:

Cookies or Browser Cookies. A “cookie” is a small file placed on your Device. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may be unable to use some parts of our Services. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our Services may use cookies. This includes collecting data about your browsing behaviour, such as page views, clicks, add-to-cart actions, and checkout activity, and device details, such as IP address, browser type, operating system, and approximate location. We may also use advertising identifiers, such as Google’s GAID and Meta’s Facebook ID, to match you across devices and share transaction data, such as product information, price, and order amount, for remarketing.

Web Beacons. Certain sections of our Services and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons, also referred to as clear GIFs, pixel tags, and single-pixel GIFs, that permit DREO, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics, for example, recording the popularity of a certain section and verifying system and server integrity.

 

3. DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

We may use and disclose Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Services, including monitoring the usage of our Services.
  • To manage your account.
  • For the performance of a contract.
  • To contact you.
  • To provide you with news, special offers, and general information about other goods, services, and events that we offer that are similar to those you have already purchased or inquired about, unless you have opted not to receive such information.
  • To manage your requests.

We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Email Promotions

We may use your Personal Data to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials, and other information that may be of interest to you. We collect your name and email address for these purposes with your consent where required by applicable law, such as through a sign-up, subscription, checkout, account registration, or other consent process. SMS Marketing

We send promotional text messages only where you have opted in or otherwise provided consent in accordance with applicable law. For SMS marketing, we collect your mobile phone number and may use short-link tracking tools to track data such as SMS delivery, opens, and link clicks. You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying “STOP,” which will block all text messages sent from that number. DREO App Push Notifications

We may send you marketing information related to our products or services through in-app push notifications, such as new product releases, special offers, or personalized recommendations. To provide push notification services, we may collect and use your device identification information, such as device push tokens, account preferences, and behavioural data related to your use of our Services.

You may opt out of receiving marketing push notifications at any time by disabling push notification permissions for our app in your mobile device system settings, by going to “Settings” > “Message Center” > “Notification Settings” in the app, or by contacting our customer support team to request that you be unsubscribed.

Please note that if you opt out, you may still receive important service-related notifications, such as account security alerts, transaction notifications, and system updates, which are not marketing push notifications.

Behavioural Remarketing

We use remarketing services to advertise to you after you access or visit our Services. We and our third-party vendors use cookies and non-cookie technologies to help us recognize your Device and understand how you use our Services so that we can improve our Services to reflect your interests and serve you advertisements that are likely to be of more interest to you.

Facebook Insights

Facebook uses your information to provide analytics and statistics regarding the use of the DREO Fan Page (“Facebook Insights”). We use the Facebook Insights function in connection with the operation of the Fan Page to obtain anonymized statistical data about our users. For this purpose, Facebook places a cookie on the Device of the user visiting our Fan Page. Each cookie contains a unique identifier code and remains active for two years unless it is deleted before the end of this period. Facebook receives, records, and processes the information stored in the cookie, especially when the user visits Facebook services, services provided by other members of the Fan Page, and services provided by other companies that use Facebook services. 10. PAYMENTS

We do not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors, whose use of your Personal Data is governed by their privacy policies. These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS, as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

12. “DO NOT TRACK” POLICY

13. CHILDREN UNDER 16
